Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
MileSync is an Android app developed and published by an individual developer operating under the name Samaura Tech Labs ("I", "me"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.
1. In short
- MileSync works offline. Everything you record stays on your device.
- There is no server, no account, and no sign-up. I cannot see your data.
- I do not collect your location, contacts, or audio.
- I do not sell your data.
- The app uses Google Firebase, Google AdMob, and RevenueCat, which collect limited technical data described in section 3.
2. Data stored on your device
Everything you enter is saved locally on your phone and is never sent to me. This includes vehicle details (name, make, model, registration number, VIN, odometer, photos), fuel logs, expenses, service records, documents you attach, reminders, and your app settings.
Because this data exists only on your device, you are responsible for backing it up. If you uninstall the app or lose your phone without a backup, I cannot recover it for you.
3. Data collected by third-party services
MileSync uses three third-party services. Each collects limited technical data under its own privacy policy. None of them receive your vehicle records.
- Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) — anonymous usage events (for example, "a fuel entry was added") and crash reports containing your device model, OS version, app version, and an app instance identifier. This helps me fix bugs and understand which features are used. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob — shows ads to free users only. It collects your device's advertising ID and standard ad request data. The app requests non-personalized ads. Subscribers see no ads. See Google's advertising information.
- RevenueCat — validates purchases and manages your subscription. It receives the Google Play purchase token and an anonymous user ID. It does not receive your name or email. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Payments themselves are handled by Google Play Billing. I never see your payment details.
4. Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet | Ads, analytics, crash reports, and purchases |
| Camera | Optional — photograph vehicles, receipts, or documents |
| Photos / storage | Optional — attach images or PDFs, and save exports |
| Notifications | Show reminders you set. Reminders are created on your device |
| Advertising ID | Used by AdMob to serve ads to free users |
| Billing | Process in-app purchases |
The app does not request location, contacts, calendar, SMS, phone, or microphone access.
5. Exporting and sharing
You can export your data as a backup file or PDF report. This only happens when you choose to, and the file goes wherever you send it. Exported files can contain your full records, so handle them carefully. I never receive them.
6. Children
MileSync is not intended for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Retention and deletion
Data on your device stays until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. You can delete any record inside the app at any time. Data held by Google and RevenueCat is retained under their own policies; you can reset your advertising ID in your Android settings.
8. Your choices
- Subscribe to MileSync Pro to remove ads.
- Reset or limit your advertising ID under Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Delete records in the app, or uninstall it to remove all data from your device.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it.
